Exhibitions + Collaborations

Wretched Light Industry in collaboration with Serving The People, Funded by Creative Scotland.

Wʀᴇᴛᴄʜᴇᴅ Lɪɢʜᴛ Iɴᴅᴜsᴛʀʏ is a collaborative virtual world cobbled together in Scotland by Benjamin Hall and Jay Darlington.

’The map is comprised of 33 environments made by emerging digital artists, magicians, jammers, worlders and dreamers from all over our globe. Wander freely around our mist-cloaked vale; there might be mazes, offices, dragons, sheep, temples, forests and more’.
The world is available in English, Scottish Gaelic, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Tamil & Malayalam.

For the project I collaborated with Hugo Harris to produce a virtual graveyard, primarily inspired by the Cimitero delle Porte Sante, a graveyard in Florence that we both visited during our RSA John Kinross scholarships. Below I have featured a series of images showing some of the individual gravestones and mausoleums from the graveyard.

After Hours: Harlesden Highstreet x Bowes Parris Gallery

‘This monumental exhibition investigates the concept of taking an empty commercial space in the current economic climate and bringing a new purpose to it. Visitors to the exhibition can walk around the space in the same way they used to walk around a typical department store, invoking the sense of exploring a shopping center after hours’.

The former shopping center has been transformed into a space that is filled with varied and diverse works, spanning genres, colours, texture and size. This has created an immersive environment where no two spaces are the same. The exhibition opens to the public after the second UK lock-down, drawing attention to the fall of the British High Street, worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic and seeing thousands of businesses move online. After Hours questions the precarious nature of physical retail, and the permanence of the arts in the wake of Government campaigns of Rethink. Reskill. Reboot aimed at the arts community.
